With extensive experience in the retail, grocery, mobile, payment and loyalty industries, the leaders at Modiv Media™ know how to deliver the best shopping experience for consumers who are in the store and on-the-go.

Mike Grimes

Mike Grimes, CEO

Mike Grimes is an accomplished sales and business development executive with expertise in new customer acquisition, go-to-market strategies and strategic alliances for early-stage companies. Mike has been with Modiv Media™ since 2001.

Prior to Modiv, Mike was Vice President of North American Sales for PinPoint Corporation, a manufacturer of real-time proximity solutions for manufacturing and healthcare markets, where he built and managed the direct and channel sales teams. Prior to PinPoint, Mike held various VP-level positions at Telxon Corporation (now part of Motorola), a manufacturer of mobile wireless information systems. He ran Telxon's northeast division for four years and later built up its North American channel sales team.

Mel Liebergall

Mel Liebergall, SVP, Sales & Strategic Development

Mel joined Modiv in March 2010, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in senior sales management and business development, primarily within non-traditional media circles. He has been engaged in in-store media pursuits for more than 12 of those years, having held SVP and EVP level positions at both News America Marketing and CBS Outernet.

During his 15 year stint at News America, Mel was at various times responsible for the FSI, In-store and Co-Marketing sales teams, both regionally and ultimately nationally, and he also served as the EVP/GM overseeing Retail Merchandising throughout the U.S. and Canada. While at CBS Outernet, Mel was SVP/Sales for this digital in-store network operator and he has also provided ongoing consulting services to both agency and network clients regarding the digital in-store arena. Mel began his career engaged in more traditional media planning and buying pursuits at agencies such as Grey Advertising and Ted Bates, in addition to having sales management responsibilities at Prestige Publications.

Matt Volpi

Matt Volpi, Director of Product Management

Matt Volpi joined Modiv Media™ in 2007 with more than a decade of experience in mobile and consumer Internet technologies. Matt is reponsible for product strategy, marketing and media operations at Modiv Media.

Prior to Modiv Media™, Matt was a Product Line Manager for Mobility Tools at Sun Microsystems. Matt also held various global product management and product marketing roles at Nokia, where he provided tools and services to nurture the nascent mobile browsing and application market. At CMGi, Matt created one of the first personalized mobile content experiences for mobile phones and pagers, as well as introducing the first free real-time stock quotes offering on the Internet.

Matt holds an MBA from Babson College and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Penn State University.

Jason Carney

Jason Carney, Director of Operations

Jason joined Modiv Media™ in 2007 bringing more than 15 years of experience in the development, implementation, and support of retail technologies.  As Director of Operations, Jason is responsible for  the implementation and ongoing support of Modiv Media’s products.

Prior to joining Modiv Media™, Jason held Information Technology management positions with Stop & Shop Supermarkets, Ahold USA, and BJ’s Wholesale Clubs.  While at Stop & Shop Supermarkets, Jason was responsible for the architecture and support of several generations of retail technologies including In-Store Processors, Point of Sale, wireless systems, network, mobile devices, and customer-facing self-service technologies.  Jason also managed the initial pilot development and rollout of Modiv Media’s Shopper solution.  At Ahold, Jason provided technical leadership for the strategic architecture of standardized in-store technology across five US operating companies. While at BJ’s Wholesale, Jason led the evaluation, selection, and implementation of their Self-Checkout strategy.
